Neighborhood Funding Stream
In
2004, the City of Philadelphia Empowerment Zone (EZ) and United Way of Southeastern
Pennsylvania (UWSEPA) announced their partnership in a signature project called
the Neighborhood Funding Stream. Established by the members of the local Community
Trust Boards in the American Street and North Central Empowerment Zones, this
neighborhood endowment will make grants available to community organizations
that address selected funding priorities.
Guiding Principles
As
a legacy of the Philadelphia Empowerment Zone, the mission of the Neighborhood
Funding Stream is to support sustainable community and economic development
efforts in a culturally and ethnically diverse community. The Neighborhood
Funding Stream will contribute to a healthy, self-sufficient and safe environment
for community members and residents.
