United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania can address
some of most pressing and critical needs in our community
by participating in public policy using these tools:
- Communications: Improving communications between
policy makers and nonprofit agencies
- Partnerships:
facilitate coalitions of agencies around policy
issues
- Foster systemic changes
- Capacity Building
Using these tools, the United
Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania 2006-07 public
policy agenda
concentrates on four key issues:
Nonprofit
Public Policy
Nonprofit agencies need to advocate for their members,
consumers, and communities as every major human service
issue is affected by public sector funding and regulatory
activity. To successfully engage in public policy,
the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania is working
with agencies to build capacity in numerous ways.
