Maryann is on the road speaking
for United Way gatherings. Reluctant at first Maryann is now fired up – having
discovered hardly anyone has ever heard of Art and Play Therapy for children.
An educator in her first life, Maryann welcomes the opportunity to share with
potential contributors of United Way on the value of working with children
and their entire families.
Children often have no power and can do nothing to bring about change in the
family, but when the entire family gathers for therapy everyone is given an
opportunity to be heard. Parents are often reminded, “out of the mouths
of babes…”
Children possess simple honesty and truth. Often kids acting out can be the
catalyst for great change in the therapeutic context.
CFAR endeavors to give children a voice in the family and Maryann is out sharing
CFAR’s goal.
The United Way Speakers Bureau helps connect those making contributions and
those receiving them. In addition, it has turned out to be a rewarding experience
fro Maryann to laud the accomplishments and work of CFAR.
