Rosemary Turner
President
UPS – Chesapeake District
Rosemary Turner is president of UPS small package operations in the
Chesapeake District, an area which provides service to six states and
includes the major metropolitan cities of Baltimore, Philadelphia and
Washington D.C. Appointed to this position in April 2010, she leads
over 15,000 employees. The Chesapeake District provides services to
more than 784,000 customers daily.
A native of Los Angeles, Rosemary began her UPS career in 1979 while
in college. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Accounting
from Loyola Marymount University and Certification in Total Quality
Management from Consumes River College in Sacramento, she became a
package car driver. Since 1985, she has held various management positions
at UPS that have utilized her diverse background in transportation,
logistics, criminal investigation and organizational transformation
toward process improvement. Prior to her current position, Rosemary
served as vice president of the Southern California District and the
Northern Plains District, which includes servicing customers in the
states of Nebraska, North and South Dakota.
With an extensive background in UPS operations, Rosemary has been
able to use her experience and expertise in teamwork concepts and empowering
people to help educate senior management on internal communications,
serving as the “high” level sponsor for the UPS district
teams and the communication of all benchmark achievements. She also
has vast experience in presenting before top corporate executives,
major customers and community organizations.
Rosemary has been an active member of the Philadelphia community.
Currently, she serves as the board chair for the United Way of Southeastern
Pennsylvania and is an executive board member for the Greater Philadelphia
Chamber of Commerce, Urban League of Philadelphia and the Mayor’s
Private Sector Task Force. In addition, she is a member of the Board
of Trustees at Loyola Marymount University and is the Chairman of the
Universities Technology Committee. Rosemary is also an active volunteer
for the American Diabetes Association, March of Dimes and serves as
a mentor for young upcoming professionals.
