Martin Luther King Day of Service
Each
year, Philadelphia-area citizens of all backgrounds and ages answer the call
for community action by volunteering in service projects throughout the region
as part of the Greater Philadelphia MLK Day of Service. In January 2009, in
the Philadelphia region, more than 65,000 people volunteered in some 900 service
projects to honor Dr. King.
